This is the monitoring system that the EV world has been waiting for! The PakTrakr 600EV includes the display and 1 remote unit. Each remote unit can monitor up to 6 12V, 8V, or 6V AGM, Gel, or Flooded ead-acid batteries. Up to three additional remotes (for a total of 4) can be purchased below to monitor up to 24 batteries.
The PakTrakr not only provides a read-out of the real-time voltages, but also gives an analysis of the battery system. With the addition of a current sensor (also available below), pack current can also be monitored. All data can be collected through a RS-232 interface purchased separately below.
We have been very pleased with the PakTrakr system. The intallation is straight-forward, and the results have been great.

| PakTrakr 800EV Monitoring System |

|
The 800EV system has the same features as the 600EV monitoring system, however, it is designed to work with the 8-battery remotes. The 8-battery remotes differ from the 6-battery remotes in that they have two extra channels, and are only designed to work with 6 or 8 volt batteries.

| PakTrakr ES1/ES1R RS-232 Interface |
 |
There is nothing quite as intriguing (besides driving an EV!) as collecting battery data during a drive and plotting it on a computer.
This PakTrakr RS-232 connector makes that possible. The RS-232 connection is optically isolated from the high-voltage ground to avoid ground loops if the laptop or computer was plugged into the vehicle 12V system.
The RS-232 interface plugs directly into the back of the PakTrakr display. If a current sensor is used in the system, the current sensor plugs into a connector on the rear of the RS-232 interface shell.

| PakTrakr 600A Current Sensor |

Current sensor with connector

Shows an installation using 2/0 cable. The sheathing was removed with just the copper passing through the sensor (tight fit!).

Another view of an example installation of the current sensor. It is advised to use heat-shrink tubing on all connections if connections will be exposed to extreme weather conditions (this installation was inside the cabin). |
An easy to install Hall-effect current sensor adds additional functionality to your PakTrak 600EV or 800HE systems. Unlike a shunt resistor system, the PakTrakr current sensor is completely isolated from the pack, wastes no energy, and may be installed anywere in the pack.
The current sensor hole should accommodate most 2/0 flexible cable with the sheathing removed. Alternately, a copper bus-bar can be formed to pass through the hole.
