This device has been developed to interface directly to the WarP-Drive controller over the CANbus communications line. It opens up an amazing array of capabilities. Some of its features include:

• Datalogging to a miniSD card from all internal sensors in the WarP-Drive, some of which are motor current and voltage and battery current and voltage, chillplate temperature, pulse width, throttle position, internal power supply voltages, external supply voltage, error and warning codes, and controller operating state. Since the Palm models seem to change a lot, and the newer low cost models don't have the RS-232 serial port that is required for accessing adjustments on the Zilla, we recommend using one of these refurbished Palm IIIx units with RS-232 serial cables.

These units have the benefit of a larger screen than most of the current models. The ptelent program, which is a Hyperterminal program for Palm devices, has been permanently loaded in flash memory. This way there is no need to have a separate computer at all. This Palm Pilot will retain the program required to communicate with the Hairball, even when the batteries die and are replaced. This Palm IIIx package modified by Cafe Electric is all that is necessary to adjust settings and read error codes on your Zilla controller.
