Common Abbreviations & Acronyms in the EV world

In the automotive world, there are quite a few abbreviations used.
The Electric Vehicle arena adds several new ones. I felt like a consolidated
list would be helpful for quick reference.
- AC = Air Conditioning
- AGM = Absorbed Glass Mat
- AC = Alternating Current
- BEV = Battery Electric Vehicle
- BLDC = Brushless DC (motor)
- CARB = California Air Research Board
- DC = Direct Current
- DoD = Depth of Discharge
- EV = Electric Vehicle
- FCEV = Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle
- ICE = Internal Combustion Engine
- IGBT = Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor
- LDV = Light Duty Vehicle
- LION = Lithium Ion
- NEV = Neighborhood Electric Vehicle
- NiCd = Nickel Cadmium
- NiMH = Nickel Metal Hydride
- NiZn = Nickel Zinc
- OCV = Open Circuit Voltage
- PbA = Lead Acid
- Pm = Permanent Magnet
- PWM = Pulse Width Modulated
- PV = Photovoltaic
- regen = Regenerative
- SCR = Silicon-Controlled Rectifier
- SLA = Sealed Lead Acid
- SLI = Starting, Lighting, Ignition
- SVR = Sealed Valve Regulated
- ULEV = Ultra Low Emission Vehicle
- Voc = Voltage Open Circuit
- VRLA = Valve Regulated Lead Acid
- Wh = Watt Hour
- ZEV = Zero Emmission Vehicle
